You have A- Levels and GSCE's as I am told. In America there is no set national test to graduate from high school. Also there are no real qualifications for university study only subjects that universities would like to see on your transcript. We have the SAT's and the ACT's. Most colleges require one or the other but some do not require either. I think Youth for understanding has a program and there are others. When you are in year 11 of school in the UK.

When you are in year 11 of school in the UK....?
how many years do you have left? Is it common for someone who is 14 to be in yr 11?

Year 11 = last year of high school (secondary school) Unless there's a sixth form, (year 12) 14 year olds = Years 9/10
2 :
In year11 you are aged 15/16. Year11 is your last compulsory year of education in the UK.
3 :
Year 11 is the last year of compulsory education in the UK, students in this year group are generally 15 & 16 although in certain circumstances children may be held back or put forward a year or two. So it is uncommon to find a 14 year old in year 11 .

You are in the last year of high school, and will have less than a year left (year 11 is much shorter than other school years). However, the government has introduced a new scheme to keep kids in education so if you're of a certain age (NOT ME THOUGH, HAHAHA) you will have another three years. It is not common to have someone younger than 15 in year 11. It's more common to have people who should be in the year above in a year below that. I didn't even know they let kids go up years. Do you get to do that?? If you're immigrating to the UK, you will probably be placed in the year below than what you should be. A lot of my polish friends should be in college right now if they were in Poland, but they're stuck being in year 11 with me this year instead. :)
5 :
Its the last year you have to do. It is impossible to be 14, you have to be 15 or 16. In the UK you dont generally advance or get but back a year.

Should Prince Michael open a "finishing school" in the UK

Should Prince Michael open a "finishing school" in the UK?
Supposedly, it was the Queen Mother who put Diana "through the paces"...now that she is dead, wouldn't Prince Michael be a great person to help "finish" upper class young ladies, and also commoners like Kate Middleton who might aspire to marriage with a UK royal?

Sounds a bit drastic - finishing school? Do you mean in the sense of 'thumb on the blade, blade in the horizontal plane, thrust up under the ribs?' Maybe not - in my experience finishing school types did the same thing, but psychologically. So perhaps that's exactly what the Rentakents should do!
2 :
If Prince Michael of Kent is not too busy acting as a go-between for Russian trade interests, he could profit from opening a finishing school for nouveau riche "princess want-to-be's" that features an abbreviated course in finishing. After all, the Duke of Kent's expertise is preferable to that of Lady Diana Spencer's butler, Paul Burrell, who appeared on the "Australian Princess" and "American Princess" reality television shows. That said, apparently the Queen Mum's role in tutoring the Princess of Wales to be was over stated at the time of the Royal Wedding. If Prince William is truly interested in marrying Kate Middleton, no doubt she is being groomed behind the scenes.

No....just because Diana now dead....this not good reason why glorious Queen Mother must stop give help....regard finish off person. * Of course....if Prince Michael wish open own "finishing school"....cannot stop. This called competition. Perhaps He do good job....perhaps not.

If Kate Middleton wants to marry Prince William, then I expect she will get a lot of advice about her behaviour, duties etc before she marries him. Personally,if she asked me, I would advise against it, I can imagine nothing more boring myself than marrying into the royal family. But it's her choice.

you can take anything, you should take english.Being a primary teacher will be easy all you need is just to get a teaching certificate. I know loads of people who didnt even go to uni and are primary teachers but its best to go to uni.
