King's Rise School in Birmingham is one of the few secondary schools where this kind of punishment took place. There were, however, male teachers who used implements other than canes on girls' bottoms. Several were prosecuted. Among them were Robin Peverett, O.B.E. of Dulwich Preparatory School; John Guise of Helston Grammar School and Colin 'Punishment Kit' West of St. Aiden's School, Carlisle.
