I want to attend a University in the UK,and i live in the USA right now.How does the UK system work?
I am planning on going in to medicine. Right now i am currently a sophomore in high school. I understand that in the UK you take your GCSE's, but since i will be taking my SAT's, will some schools still accept that? Would i graduate highschool, and then go to 5 years of medical school in the UK?(Is that how it works, because in the US it is 4 years of college, 4 years of med school). Tell me everything. Tips on getting in to a university? Thanks

iam not sure about sats but you can send your details or contact the university you would like to attend in the future and they wil provide the information that you will need.

To get into a UK uni, you'll need the SATs plus either at least 3 AP exams, or 3 SAT II subject tests. You'd normally want to take one in bio, one in chem, and one other. The UK unis that I'm familiar with won't admit you into their medicine courses, as the only foreigners they admit into medicine are those from countries where the country's medical schools are inferior. That's hardly the case for the US. So I ask you to check the web pages for medicine for each UK uni you're interested in. See if you even can apply.

In the UK we have GCSE's which you do in your last year at school (you need to get high grades in all) then you go onto Sixth Form or College for 2 or 3 years studying A Levels, sometimes BTEC's but they aren't accepted for Medicine as far as I know. A Levels is both exam & coursework and BTEC's are more practical such as work experience and coursework. In year 12 we apply through the UCAS website for University where you pick the course you want to go on, to study Medicine in the UK it takes either 5 or 6 years depending on if you pick a course where you work during your degree. Hope I helped, I put the UCAS website down there \/
