After school detention in the UK

After school detention in the UK?
Hi everyone.... I attend school in the UK, i am in year 10 (15 yrs old). last week i was given an after school detention for 2 hours (3.30 til 5.30) for skipping class. The head of year Mr poole gave me the detention which took place in room 7, english classroom. i was the only person in detention, and had to write lines as my punishment, which is really, really boring!!! The teacher told me if i didnt complete at least 5 sides of A4, then i would have another detention the next day! we have to wear school uniform for detentions. so i got to the classroom, sat at the desk, got my pen out and started to write my lines. i managed to get through 6 sides of lines come 5.30. i handed my papers to the teacher, and made my way home. what are your detentions like? Any ideas on a good pen to use in detention when writing lines?? (my hand started to hurt after a while).... x-amy-x

I think you need to make sure that all the following processes were followed. Firstly, did the School tell your parents that you were to be held back for two hours, and did they give them 24 hours notice? (a legal requirement). Secondly, is your Head of Year aware that the writing of lines is, at the very least frowned on, and at worst is possibly illegal? I wonder if it is your school's policy to insist on the writing of lines. Can they justify such a time-wasting activity? Why were you not required to complete the work you should have done in the lesson you skipped? One thing is certain, and that is that you could NOT be given a further detention for not completing a set number of lines during the detention. If that had happened your parents would be within their rights to refuse to allow you to sit that detention. Perhaps you should have gone to the lesson after all.....!

Of course dont worry. i had laptop for slovenia and i am working with it now in turkiye and int.

You need a new power adapter. And you won't be able to play DVD videos. You might have a bit of trouble with the Wi-Fi as well but I think that they are mostly compatible. Other than that, the computer doesn't care where it is located.
3 :
Yeah it should, im in scotland now on my acer aspire and its fine :) All you need to do is just make sure you have a UK plug :)

Graduate School in the UK

Graduate School in the UK?
I am currently in college in the U.S, interested in moving to England for graduate school. I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I was born in the UK, so I am both a U.S. and British Citizen. What schools would you recommend for graduate study in psychology? I am familiar with cambridge and oxford, but those might be out of my range. I would love to go to school in london, but I am open to any other cities-Brighton, Cardiff (in wales), etc... And since I am a british citizen would it make this process easier for me? Any websites or books would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

First of all it's a UNIVERSITY not a school. School's are for little children. Second of all if you want to screw up your education by all means go to an English Uni. Scotland has a better Education system
