Advices for a Hong Kong UK-boarding Sixth Form student to enter UK medical schools

Advices for a Hong Kong UK-boarding Sixth Form student to enter UK medical schools?
I'm a student from Hong Kong and I've got 3As 2Cs 4Ds in my HKCEE. I'm going to pursue AS/A2 in the UK this September and I wonder what I should do really to enter good UK medical schools. I'm planning to take Maths Further Maths Bio Chem Phy Chinese and French for AL, and I wonder if Further Maths is really unnecessary and time-consuming for my medical dream (how many notable schools consider only 1 Maths subject?). Also, what policy should I have concerning top medical schools? My 4 choices currently are Edinburgh, Nottingham, St George's and (undecided). I'm not sure if I should even think of the top 4. I'm a qualified first aider according to the Hong Kong St John Ambulance and I've gained 1 week work experience at the Department of Clinical Oncology in Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong. What stuffs is highly recommend for me to do in the UK during half-terms and holidays?

7 A-levels is a bit much. You're only going to have time to do 3 although they may let you sit chinese as a 4th if you're already fluent. The way it works is you sit 4 AS level subjects and then drop one to take the other 3 up to A level. It's good that you've got clinical experience, they like that and a little more in some other areas of medicine would be good. You can also volunteer at charity day centres for things like dementia to get more patient orientated skills. Have you considered Manchester? It was rated as number 1 a few years ago (though I don't know what it's at now). Dundee uni is also good for the general uni experience but I don't know what the medical school is like (I studied anatomy there).

I am certified to teach grades PreK-8 in New Jersey. I'm moving to the UK with my English husband and wish to resume teaching there. How can I obtain a teaching license in England?

No problem. you will be required to do teaching with young children. Before that you can apply with British council for education. The certificate will be accepted with British council recognition. Basically, the style of teaching will be differ though syllabus may be on par, and hence they need recognition. you please contact the authorities there in USA, and they are competent to explain the rules.

UK Veterinary School? 5 or 6 years? Vet Students

UK Veterinary School? 5 or 6 years? Vet Students?
Hi, My daughter is very keen to go to vet school, having learnt a lot about the job through work experience and talking to vets. However, she is not a fan of chemistry and cannot imagine doing two years of biology, chemistry and maths. Therefore she is keen to learn more about the 6 year courses that do not require biology or chemistry at A level. She is an academic girl so that should not be a problem but she is worried she is risking everything in case she does not get into Bristol/ Nottingham 6 year courses. Any information would be great. Thank you. We have been browsing through the university websites and they all state that you must do chemistry and biology and then it is between physics and maths. She likes biology but hates chemistry.

Why doesn't she want to do biology? The job is massively involved in biology, and I don't see how you could learn the trade without doing biology in some way. Edit: Do you mean she doesn't want to do biology for A Levels? Biology is a huge part of Vet Science, and if she doesn't do it now she'll be doing it for six years on the course anyway! Also she'll find it much more difficult without having a basic knowledge of the subject. Edit: Chemistry is only a very small part of it, usually you don't even need it. Maths is a good subject to have as it helps with dosage calculation. (I though maths was compulsory anyway.)

What are some extremely high-end and exclusive secondary schools in London, UK?
I'm writing a story about a group of beautiful, rich, classy girls located in London, all they need now is a school.

I'd make it up, if I were you. Using a real school could cause you problems if your story were to be published. However, the site below might give you some inspiration:

Dual Citizenship and Education i the UK as a citizen. How do my High School credits compare?
I have dual citizenship with the Uk and the US, i have lived in the US my whole life so far, but i would like to go to University or college in the UK. What qualifications do i need to go to school there seeing that i am a citizen, but have no residency and have been through american schooling? Do i have to take any exams to qualify? Would i pay fees for housing and living? Any information would be welcome. Thank you!

you would normally need 'A level's@ to get a place at a british university if u where educated in britian, but as u where u where educated abroad and us qualification's i think u can apply as an international student and it all comes down to your grades. Univeristy fees and the cost of living is not cheap here but you can get student grants, the fact that u are a dual citizen would only mean that u can travel and live here legally with out having to go through all the imigration.

Usually from around 9am-3.30pm. Ours used to begin at 8.50am, so start times may vary, but not by much. They don't usually have a shorter/half day in the week, it's normally the same all week.

The ones i know go to school mon-fri and the rough times are 09.00- 15.00 hours, they may vary in times slightly. I don't know of a school which has half days. The only time they may finish early is at the start of the school holidays in the summer, christmas and easter.

depends if they are infants or juniors. my son has just finished juniors they went 9-3.10 infants 9-3.00pm no all days are the same length tho they have several teacher training days when the school is closed throughout the year. im in brighton, sussex.
