What do you think of the new law in UK......? About compulsory boxing in school

What do you think of the new law in UK......? About compulsory boxing in school?
I think it's a great idea. It keeps us fit as well I go to high school in Australia and we hardly get exercise and skills for self-defense.... no wonder our country has a high population of obese people. So question is "Do you think all ( most) countries should have the same thing going ?

I go to a school in the uk and there is no compulsory boxing.
2 :
While Australia is unfortunately a very obese nation, introducing a compulsory boxing program is going a bit too far. Boxing can be a dangerous 'sport' and It may be the battleground for a full out war between a bully and somebody they hate. And not everyone is able to box, it could be againest somebodys ethics for example........... But i do agree that Australia needs to do something about the obese problem. At my school, there is NO Physical Education program at all... and it SUCKS! (sometimes) I miss it at my old school where it had a PE program.... =/
3 :
Theres no compulsory boxing in my high school, and mine is a joint sports college aswell.
4 :
Excellent idea, boxing is a very disciplined artform, and it will not hurt to teach kids how to look after themselves!!!!
5 :
I don't think it's a good idea. I think mandatory fitness classes are fantastic, but not a violent sport like boxing. Getting hit in the face should be a risk you choose to take, not one that is forced on you. Otherwise it will just be used as a chance to bully/beat up on the nerdy kids without getting in trouble with the school.

Is a teenager posing as a student at another school for the day illegal in the UK

Is a teenager posing as a student at another school for the day illegal in the UK?
My friend who is the same age as I am goes back to school a later than I do. He is planning to pose as a student at my school on my day back, wearing some of my school uniform. Could he be prosecuted for this?

Yes impersonating another is a serious crime. There is a crackdown on fraud at the moment as well which makes it even riskier.

Are teachers allowed to search school bags without the pupils permission or if the school don't have a warr

Are teachers allowed to search school bags without the pupils permission or if the school don't have a warr?
I go to a school in the UK, and hoodies have been banned. Can the school teachers, legally, search the pupils bags and confiscate any non-school uniform without their permission? I thought the teachers had to have a warrant?

at the school I teach at if we see the kids acting odd we do search we first ask the principal then we do and at the end of the day we tell the parents.
2 :
yep, teachers now have the powers to perform body searches too. This is in line with the anti-knife war;///// http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/6704563.stm
3 :
in the U.S its like this if the principal has a suspicion he can go through your locker bag but not your person he cant touch you only a police officer you can ask for one if you dont consent beacuase even though you are on school grounds you still have rights dont know how it is over their but this is how its here
4 :
a warrant lol, no they don't need that but however they can't go into ur bag without ur knowledge.......they can tell u to open it but if they feel ur a treat to the school and ur some dumb sick stupid kid with a weapon then yep they have the right to search b/c it's their job to protect all other kids btw teachers are awesome and u won't know it now, until ur older then
5 :
in my oppinion i would say no....but the teachers would have to be pedifiles to want to body and cavity search kids
6 :
No, they don't have to have a warrant. Remember, you are on government property as long as you are in school and as such, you are under their care and protection. If the teacher decides that you may have "illegal" things on your person or in your locker, they can search for and confiscate them. It's up to you to know what you can or can't bring into school.
7 :
They cannot, and you can report them

My school takes a trip to South Africa every year

My school takes a trip to South Africa every year?
Yes, well i live in the UK. My school recently made a connection with a school in South Africa, my question is.. What do you think the chances of the school getting caught up in crime? For example, a car jacking or mugging? I personally don't care if anything like that was to happen, after all they always pick the self righteous little teachers pets to go, most of them probably don't even know where South Africa is! (No Joke) Just wondering.. They are going next year. They are going to Cape Town.

It depends on where the school is situated. If it is an English school in the southern suburbs like SACS or Bishops you guys will be fine. The same goes for Afrikaans schools in the Boland like Paul Roos or Paarl Boys High. If the school is in a township or on the Cape Flats, it is however a completely different story. Nyanga has on of the highest murder rates in South Africa and Manenberg is renowned for its gangsterism problem. If the school is in an area like Langa, Hanover Park, Gugulethu, Khayelitsha, Manenberg, Nyanga or Mitchell's Plain, your school will need the help of the locals to make sure they stay safe.
